CDAP helps Canadian-owned for-profit businesses with 1 – 499 employees & annual revenue of at least $500,000.

Answers to Your CDAP Questions
In March of 2022, the Federal Government of Canada announced $1.4 billion in funding to help SMEs across Canada digitize their businesses. CDAP aims to improve Canada’s global competitiveness by closing “the digitization gap between Canadian businesses and their competitors”. In total, the government has committed $4 billion over the next four years. This program is called the Canadian Digital Adoption Program.
The CDAP Grant will reimburse you for 90% your eligible costs (up to $15,000) to work with an approved Digital Advisor like 33Dolphins to digitize your business. You choose which area(s) of your business will most benefit from digital enablement, then work with an approved digital advisor to develop your digital adoption plan.

Once you have submitted your plan, additional supports are available, including:
- Funding to hire a student.
- An interest free loan to underwrite your implementation, provided through the BDC.
Your digital adoption plan is required to meet certain standards. These four elements must be part of every plan:
- Executive Summary: provide a high-level summary of the key elements of the plan for the SME.
- Current State Analysis: Provide an overview of the key business information, such as SWOT analysis, external & internal issues, as well as key IS/IT information considered.
- Digital Opportunity Analysis & Recommendations: your plan must identify a minimum of three potential solutions for you to consider, including how each of those solutions will benefit your business (the business case).
- Your Implementation Roadmap: the key elelents to implement the recommended options, including timeline, dependencies, costs to acquire technology, etc.

Once you’ve confirmed that you meet the minimum requirements of the program, head over the the online CDAP application to complete your 2-step application process.
You will be asked to:
- Provide basic information about your business & verification of your identity.
- Complete a fast, easy self-assessment to determine your digital needs. The assessment tool will generate a report that measures your company’s digital maturity against an industry-specific benchmark that you can share with your digital advisor.
Once approved, you select your chosen digital advisor in the CDAP Digital Advisor Marketplace and begin working on your plan.
As with most grant programs, funds are awarded on a first come, first serve basis to applicants who meet all of the eligibility requirements.
The federal government has worked hard to simplify the application process. Most applicants take less than 20 minutes to complete their submission.
Program administrators have shared that most applications are processed within a few days, and typically less than two weeks.

No there is no fee to apply & 33Dolphins Growth Strategy does not charge to support you through the application process.
There are two funding streams under CDAP. If you are a registered, incorporated business in Canada with at least 1 FTE, there is a very good chance you qualify for one or both of these grants.
Stream 1: Grow Your Business Online provides a grant of $2,400 for locally owned small businesses with at least one employee.
Stream 2: Boost Your Business Technology provides up to $15,000 for SME’s with at least $500,000 in annual revenue in at least one of the last three tax years. 33Dolphins is an approved advisor with this program.
33Dolphins Growth Strategy is an approved Digital Advisor for the Boost Your Business Technology Grant. We can help you determine your company’s eligibility, navigate the application process, develop & submit your digital adoption plan.
Once your plan is finalized, we can also help you evaluate vendor proposals & RFP responses, & advise you throughout your implementation.
The federal government has appointed Alacrity Canada to manage and administer all Stream 1 micro-grants in BC.
The grant provides $2,400 to reimburse a portion of your costs related to web design, SEO, social media, databases, & more. As of June 2022, eligible costs include hiring a digital marketing agency to plan & implement initiatives on your behalf.
Once you are approved for the micro grant, you can work with any agency or consultant of your choosing. There is no pre-qualification required for suppliers under this stream.
Grant funds will be issued by the government within 30 days of uploading your completed digital adoption plan.
SME’s are expected to work with your digital advisor to determine a deposit and payment structure. Talk to us about financing options.
How long it takes to complete your plan will depend on the scope of the digital transformation you aim to undertake, and your availability to provide information and feedback to your advisor. Most plans can be completed within 6 to 9 weeks.
Once you are approved for the grant, you have six months to accept the CDAP terms & choose an advisor. You then have 9 months to submit your completed Digital Adoption Plan to the government.
